These are fabric scraps sewn onto cardstock rectangles

Randomly quilted

And hole-punched to add a ribbon

They multiply quickly!

WOW! this is too weird! I spent my day making fabric bookmarks today too! However I did not use card stock, I used two layers of fabric and a layer of stiffener in the middle and then stitched it all together :) Great minds think alike!

I totally just pinned this to my list board of ideas for things to make as gifts this year for Christmas! These are adorable and I'm sure they're easy too!!

What a great idea, Cynthia... this would be a fabulous way to turn book-loving girls OR boys into beginning sewers. Thanks so much for sharing!

These are sweet and simple. I can only sew for small increments of time, so these would be great projects. I like the idea of card-stock to stiffen them. Thanks for the inspiration.

Did you have to glue the fabric to the card stock or just sewed it on?

Brilliant idea, I love combining fabric and card. I tweaked your idea a bit and managed to whip several up, they will make great stocking fillers.
